Throb & Ache & Break

Til my double-dutching doubles over.

She’s vile, she’s vicious

She’s generous with her cruel words.

She’s disparaging with her backhanded compliments.

She’s a liar under the adoration of her son. He puts her on a pedestal, a pedestal of lies.

Sometimes I feel such frustration at my own grandmother that I think I will not be able to find it in myself to feel remorse at giving into the temptation of strangling her if the opportunity were to present itself.

She’s hateful and it hurts.

So much prejudice since my birth; and all because I take my last name after my mother.
